In March, we had the joy of delivering seven activities<\/strong>, three of which were held in person<\/strong> in beautiful Thessaloniki and Nafpaktos, while the rest took place online.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

We began the month with an activity at the Model General Lyceum of Mytilene<\/strong>, within the framework of the Excellence and Creativity Club. Our volunteer Nikos Delis<\/strong> (Software Engineer) spoke about his journey from Greece to Sweden, where he currently works, and introduced students to the opportunities within his field. The discussion was lively, with many thoughtful questions from the students. We warmly thank educator Mr. Antonios Neiros<\/strong> for his collaboration and invitation.<\/p>\n

Our activities continued on the island of Mytilene<\/strong>, where R.E.A.L. Science delivered a session at the 2nd General Lyceum of Mytilene<\/strong>. Presentations were given by volunteers Olga Biskou<\/strong> (Cell Biology), Maria\u2011Anthi Kakavouli<\/strong> (Biology), and Despina Demenega<\/strong> (Speech Therapy \u2013 Neuroscience). We sincerely thank educator Sofia Marigli<\/strong> for her invitation and excellent cooperation. We hope to return soon\u2014especially since students attended the session on a Sunday morning<\/strong>, something we deeply appreciate.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, March 19, 2024<\/strong>, we met with students of class G2 at the Junior High School of Nea Anchialos<\/strong>, as part of the Skills Labs and thanks to the initiative of their teacher Konstantina Theocharis<\/strong>. Our volunteers Angelos Karanikolas<\/strong> (Atmospheric & Environmental Physics), Olga Biskou<\/strong> (Cell Biology), and Despina Demenega<\/strong> (Speech Therapy & Neuroscience) presented their fields. Students shared that the experience was valuable and inspiring, offering them knowledge and motivation to pursue their dreams.<\/p>\n

In\u2011Person Activities in Thessaloniki<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We then moved to Thessaloniki\u2014a city that loves us, and one we love just as much.<\/p>\n

This year, we had the pleasure of visiting a new school, the General Lyceum of Kalochori<\/strong>, where we were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm. In collaboration with educator Christina Alexopoulou<\/strong>, we organized two parallel sessions<\/strong>, tailored to students\u2019 academic directions.<\/p>\n

  • In one classroom, students explored the positive sciences<\/strong>, with presentations by Christos Vidouras<\/strong> (Medicine), Olga Biskou<\/strong> (Cell Biology), and Eleni Sinopoulou<\/strong> (Neuroscience).<\/li>\n
  • In the second classroom, students of the humanities, economics, and informatics<\/strong> attended presentations by Nancy Megremi<\/strong> (History of Science), Aikaterini Bompolaki<\/strong> (Tourism Management), and Ioanna Ntinou<\/strong> (Education).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The activity was fantastic. We thank the students for their attention and curiosity, and the school\u2019s educators for joining us. A special thank\u2011you goes to Christina Alexopoulou<\/strong> for her invitation, warm welcome, and hospitality. We simply say: until next time<\/em>.<\/p>\n

    Later that day, we visited a school that holds a special place in our hearts\u2014the 3rd General Lyceum of Polichni<\/strong>. For the past two years, they have trusted us to inspire new groups of students, and their welcome is always heartfelt. Our volunteers Christos Vidouras<\/strong> (Medicine), Dimitra Kyrgiafini<\/strong> (Agricultural Science), and Eleni Sinopoulou<\/strong> (Neuroscience) presented their fields.<\/p>\n

    But this session was even more special:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Our founder, Eleni Sinopoulou<\/strong>, demonstrated how to perform surgical sutures<\/strong> using synthetic tissue used in surgical training.<\/li>\n
    • She also donated two microscopes<\/strong> so students can explore the fascinating world of Biology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      In\u2011Person Activity in Nafpaktos<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      Our journey continued south to the 3rd Junior High School of Nafpaktos<\/strong>, where we were welcomed by wonderful educators, parents, and 9th\u2011grade students who dedicated their Saturday afternoon<\/strong> to meet us and explore different scientific fields.<\/p>\n

      The session was introduced and coordinated by our educational advisor Ioanna Ntinou<\/strong>, who began the journey with four questions pulled from a suitcase\u2014an unforgettable moment.<\/p>\n

      We warmly thank educator Myrto Kiminoulaki<\/strong> for her collaboration and invitation.<\/p>\n

      Closing the Month Back in Mytilene<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      Our March journey concluded once again in Mytilene, with a session on March 29<\/strong>, where volunteer Konstantinos Kakosimos<\/strong> spoke at the Model General Lyceum of Mytilene<\/strong>, within the Excellence and Creativity Club, sharing his journey from Greece to Qatar. We thank Mr. Antonios Neiros<\/strong> once again for his trust and invitation, as well as the students for their participation.<\/p>\n
